Ioannis Anastasopoulos is a Civil Engineer (BEng) from the (former) Technological Educational Institute of Crete (now Hellenic Mediterranean University). He holds a Master's degree in "Governance and Public Policies" from the University of the Peloponnese and is currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Tourism Studies, University of Piraeus. His doctoral research focuses on strategies and policies for decision-making in tourism investments, with an emphasis on tourism real estate and mixed-use developments. He has worked as an ISO Management Systems Consultant (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 39001, 50001) at OnSite BUSINESS & IT CONSULTANTS and is currently a project associate at the Technical Works Department of the University of Piraeus. His academic work has been presented at international conferences (ECIE, EBEEC, ICTR) and published in indexed volumes (WIT Press, IGI Global). He also participates in the TouKBaSEED research project on cruise tourism impacts in Piraeus.
